JR Is Wrapping Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center in a Massive Photo Mural

In preparation for his first solo show at a U.S. museum, opening at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati on Saturday, the French street artist JR is wrapping the façade of the institution’s Zaha Hadid-designed building in an enormous photo mural.

The massive mural is just one of several projects JR will be undertaking in Cincinnati beyond the CAC’s walls. His roving “Inside Out Project” mobile photobooth van — in which participants in the public art project are photographed and immediately supplied with a poster-sized print-out to paste on the street — will be traveling around the city all weekend as well.

The CAC Cincinnati’s JR exhibition opens to the public on September 21 and continues through February 2, 2014.
