Good morning dear readers. We had a great weekend and hope that you had a great time as well. Here is a list of some of the most interesting upcoming events to put on your calendar for this week.

Today (03.10) you can still get a glimpse of the Street of games – games on the street («Улица игр – игры на улице») street festival, or you can also join the discussion on artistic education and its importance today by attending a talk at the Center for Contemporary Art organized by Performativnost («Перформативность»). If this is not enough then you can also drop by Ya Gallery (Я Галерея) for the launch of Aleksandr Chekmenev’s book Donbass.

On Wednrsday, the 5th of October, the Tryptych ART gallery («Триптих АРТ») is opening a solo show of Matvey Veisberg (Матвей Вайсберг), titled Sparrows, Hippos and Others.

On Friday The Ukrainian National Museum of Art is hosting a talk with Nikolai Ridnyi as part of the Artist Talking project. Among possible themes for discussion are the role and significance of young artists for Ukraine’s image, the importance of the artist-curator figure, who not only produces art but plays the role of manager, theoretician and critic for his own work. In other words – the topics addressed will be of great signifcance.

On Saturday the Vrubel and Kyiv show opens at the The Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art. This great artist needs no introduction and the show is definitely worth visiting. Another Saturday event is a workshop at Ya Gallery led by the Aleksandr Liapin and Aleksandr Kadnikov. Those attending the workshop will get a chance to learn the basics of the art of photography. Also on the same day the Ukrainian House (Український дім) is opening the show Bullets Holocaust: mass killings of Jews in Ukraine 1941-1944 («Голокост від пуль: масовий розстріл євреїв в Україні1941-1944»).
