Stockholm SkyView at the Ericsson Globe

The Ericsson Globe is the largest hemispherical building in the world with a diameter of 110 meters. Constructed on top of 48 curved main columns a Mero space frame carries the dome shaped structure. The building was ready in 1989 and the unique hemispherical construction was designed by WSP Construction Design.

The new Stockholm SkyView consists of two glass gondolas, travelling up two sets of rails to be mounted on the outside of the Ericsson Globe. The gondolas can each carry 16 passengers and at the turning point, 130 meters above sea level, it will give a view over Stockholm (including our nearby WSP Globen office).
